As to your question, I’m not going to go into it too much out of respect for those involved. That being said, it was a few things. It’s mostly just that we had been friends for a really long time. Not to mention we had both been “adopted” into the same family. June (my best friend from high school’s mom) considered me to be a second daughter and also thought of Brendan as a second son (he’s best friend with my best friend’s little brother). So some people thought it was weird even though we weren’t technically around the family at the same time (I was in college by the time Brendan started hanging around their house). There were also a few issues with an ex. So it was just a big wibbly-wobley ball of awkward.
